This ‘Ya hot’ video is a single masterpiece that has come to define why there is use if the latest technological software that is rarely used currently in the video making. A quick recap on her biography and how she has moved to the top of the musician game is here for you to really understand that it’s not by luck or anything that AVM bumped to the top but she has really worked for it.
Ya hot precisely is a slang that means or tells or reminds someone that he or she is up on point, hot or nice looking and it goes on to explain the beauty of someone inside and outside. In this song, AVM reminds us about the same thing although the message is put in the beats. Alice Violet Mutumba “AVM” has been in the entertainment industry since the age of 6 years starting as a child TV star in her beloved Uganda. She moved to London, England at the age of 8 and it was in the UK where she nurtured her varying talents, including, singing, song writing, basic music production, TV presenting, acting, events management (Creator and Executive producer of Music On The Catwalk a live fashion and Music event.
AVM started pursuing music seriously at the age of 18 after being encouraged by her Performing Arts A Level teacher who discovered her talent and love for the creative and performing arts. At the end of her A levels AVM soon enrolled in a music technology course and started co-writing and producing pop songs with a German freelance producer. She co- wrote three demo songs with him which were sent to various record labels and picked up by Nigel Wilderman, a Virgin Record label A&R executive who advised AVM to continue writing songs which could possibly be used by other artists.
Due to a change in family circumstances AVM put her music career on hold for over 14 years. During her break from music and whilst working as a Personal and Executive Assistant to CEO and Directors of Major Corporate companies, AVM started her creative company True Media. Through True Media AVM created, edited and published 5 popular editions of her own Lifestyle, Music and Fashion Magazine called “True Magazine”, which she hopes to resurrect one day. She later went on to create a live music and fashion show concept entitled Music On The Catwalk (MOC). MOC has been produced in both London and New York and will soon be produced in other countries in Africa.
Unable to stay away from the entertainment industry AVM has also worked as a producer on the NEA AWARDS, one of Nigeria’s biggest Music Award Shows in 2009, 2010 and 2012. She has also briefly managed other artists, being part of the founding group that created UK girl group Ange Noir. AVM was the driving force behind BBA 2’s Tatiana Durao starting her music career.
After a long hiatius from music and unable to fully relinquish her love and talent for music, AVM has connected with top producers for her upcoming debut album, her first single Kwata Ko and second single ‘Whine Up’ has been a great success in Uganda, the follow up single, ‘Happy, Lino essanyu” promises to be an even bigger hit across Africa and in the diaspora.
