Museveni Launches Operation Wealth Creation in Luwero

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday was in Luwero District launching the Operation Wealth Creation, an event that happened at Kikunyu Primary School Grounds in Makulubita Sub-county, Katikamu North.

Uganda’s longest reigning president who will spend four days in the Luwero region teaching people on how to implement the wealth campaign, advised the farmers to adopt the 4 Acre Model where one care will be used for Coffee or Tea, One Acre for fruits, One Acre for Animal Husbandry and the remaining I acre for Food production.

“In Ankole sub-region, we agreed that the key is cows.” Started the president who has been voted for his fifth term in office, “I used this to teach them modern animal husbandry, encouraged them to abandon the practice of keeping many cows whose milk yield is low and adopt high breed cows with high milk output. This practice has uplifted household income in the region. For Luweero, the key, in my view, is the four-acre model. I will personally inspect farms on foot to ensure that I demonstrate how this model of one acre of coffee or tea, one acre of fruits, one acre of food and one acre of pigs/animals, works.”

He promised to use the four days in inspecting the area and discussing with farmers on how best they can utilize their land. Operation wealth Creation (OWC) is a program that was launched by His Excellency the President to transform Uganda into a middle-income status by 2020.
