The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi is currently not at ease living a life full of fear that she might get killed since she no longer feels safe like she used to feel before the whole security in Uganda became to thick to handle.
It was during the KCCA special authority meeting by the Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago when Jennifer announced though a telephone conversation between that she no longer feels secure and she might get killed due to the threats she has been receiving recently hence Lukwago also announcing to the seated comity why the ‘Nankulu‘ was not to attend any meeting.
Later on Jennifer Musisi put the same concerns in writing indicating that there are ongoing concerns over her personal safety as a result of which she had been advised to restrict her movements while her security is being reviewed by the country executive security detail. Jennifer wrote a letter dated on 8th August, while addressing Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.
Meanwhile, the KCCA executives have also come out and said that they are doing all they can to ensure that the City executive director is safe and secure, “It is not something we take lightly as an authority. The executive director ordinarily reports to this authority, now if we have a staff under us who feels insecure to engage with us, then we have a problem. I wouldn’t want to take this lightly,” they announced.
It should also be remembered that Jennifer Musisi is scheduled to host the 2017 Kampala City Festival that is slatted for 8th October to 10th October and with such threats going on at the moment, we can’t tell whether the anticipated for family festival will still go on or it will be cancelled with a lot of money invested in it with the booking of Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz named the headline act.
