Hundreds of Ugandans today braved the morning drizzles to line up at Kololo Airstrip for the Uuganda Revenue Authority (URA’s) appreciation week where different government ministries, agencies and different organizations offered free services, like health, finance, banking among many others.
The URA appreciation week targets over 40000 people.
The event was officially opened by Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister Mary Karoro Okurut who represented the president as the guest of honor and graced by the Minister for Finance, Matia Kasaija plus other ministers from different ministries, managing directors of government agencies and other dignified government and private officials.
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) came out and invited tax payers for the 12th Taxpayers Appreciation Week themed ‘Appreciating Uganda`s Taxpayer; The Link between Public Accountability and Tax Compliance’.
The appreciation Week is set to run from September 27th-29th, 2017, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), will converge at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala to showcase their services starting at 8:00AM-5:00PM daily.
Currently, they are offering free medical services, free yellow fever vaccination, free verification of land titles, business registration and verification, blood donation and free registration of births.
