The former Vice President and former MP Busiro North Constituency, Gilbert Bukenya, has urged the Parliament to consider passing a law that will enable President Museveni ruling the whole of his life.
While in an Interview with the Weekly Observer, Gilbert Bukenya described President Museveni as “the founder of the nation who deserves a special treatment” “I would let him be a special something and lead until his time comes,” added the professor.
Professor Bukenya however wants that law to be passed in favor and only limited to president Museveni and that his successors should adhere to the 75 age-limit. “As far as President Museveni is concerned, let him continue. He has good ideas, but as a principle for subsequent leaders, there must be an age-limit,”
Bukenya says this as various NRM Organs like the NRM District Chairpersons have already endorsed President Museveni for his 6th term and have asked the parliament to remove the age-limit before 2021 elections.
