Besigye Charged with Treason, remanded till June 1st

Opposition Leader Kizza Besigye has today been produced before the Nakawa Court Magistrate where he was read of Treason Charges afresh.

Kizza Besigye who was transferred to Luzira Prison days back from Moroto prison where he has been since the swearing in Ceremony of President Museveni, has now been remanded back to Luzira till June 1, 2016.

Kizza Besigye is accused of Treason after swearing in as a president of Uganda and produced an evidence of a video that he really took the oath as the President.

Various human rights activists, opposition figures and the foreign bodies have started to demand the release of the Opposition leader though the government has kept a deaf ear to their demands.
