The Forum for Democratic Change former Presidential Flag Bearer Dr. Kizza Besisigye yesterday on Tuesday gave President Yoweri Museveni a maximum of 10 days to open Makerere University or else he will do what he is planning to do next.
Kizza Besigye while on a press conference at his home Kasangati said that Makerere University should be opened and people should be accessing their Institution not having it closed as the president did. He went on to say that of it is not opened, he (Besigye) will call a National Strike.
“If Makerere is not open in 10 days, we’re going to call for a national protest,” Said Kizza Besigye as he asked Ugandans to cooperate in this matter that is of National protest. He went ahead to trash the idea of President Museveni appointing the visitation committee saying its wastage of time since there is already a report that was issued two years ago but has never been put into use.
Makerere University was closed on November 1st under the presidential directive following a violent strike at the University by the students and since then it has never been opened.
