Uhuru Kenyatta Skips Presidential Debate

The highly hyped Kenyan presidential debate has lost momentum tonight as one of the major top guns under contention incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta failing to turn up.

According to news coming from president Uhuru camp, president Uhuru laments that the organisers of Monday night’s political show down never consulted him and he wasn’t aware of the terms of the engagement.

Earlier, opposition presidential hopeful Raila Odinga had threatened to abscond from the debate if the incumbent doesn’t show up though he has gone on with the live televised in the engagement with the public at the Catholic University of East Africa.

It’s not the first time for such a scenario to happen when an incumbent presidential candidate shuns the public engagement as the same happened last year during the Ugandan presidential campaigns when incumbent president Museveni skipped the public debate alleging it was so childish meant for school children.

Those invites for the debate must command atleast five percent population support in opinion pollss according to the guidelines of the organisers.
