Several reports in Thursday’s newspapers suggest Arsenal are confident of landing a major transfer target. The Daily Mail, The Mirror and The Sun all claim that Arsene Wenger is closing on a deal for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.
The Mail reports that Monaco have rejected bids of £30m and £40m, but Arsenal are now planning an offer in excess of £45m for the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile, The Mirror suggests Lemar will be given £100,000-a-week wages, as Wenger’s summer spending looks to break the £100m barrier.On Wednesday, Oliveier Giroud told sky sports that he is not certain of his future at Arsenal.
