Kampala city council authority has today resolved to name Nakivubo road after the late Kampala mayor, John Sebaana Kizito.
On Thursday morning at around 10:am, the body of the late city council mayor arrived at KCCA headquarters for public viewing and during the extraordinary council sitting that was convened today to celebrate the life of the fallen politician, the council passed a motion to have Nakivubo road named after after the fallen politician, a motion that passed.
The Lord mayor, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago applauded the late Sebaana Kizito for contributing a lot to the sanitation of the city mention constructing the Nakivubo channel, next to the road that is to be named after him.
“His legacy mostly ran around that place because it is where Nakivubo channel is locate and he championed its construction“, said Erias Lukwago.
Streets mention Dustur, Siad Barre, Market street, Kulekaana and Mengo hill roads were all being considered to be named after the late Sebaanabout the KCCA council chose Nakivubo road.
The former democratic party president and Kampala city mayor circumbed to stroke on Monday morning at Nakasero hospital and will be laid to rest on Saturday in Luweero district.
